Quilting is one of the most therapeutic hobbies of all times. I can remember as a girl looking forward to snow days so my mother and I could quilt and sew. My mother, an avid quilter, never learned to knit or crochet, but she did teach me to embroider and quilt.

We would piece quilt blocks in the summer and quilt in the winter. Mom liked to use quilting frames but I preferred a hoop so I could lap quilt. For years I have been writing articles and featuring quilt blocks, knit and crochet patterns and talking about the need arts in our local newspaper, The Informer.  My column is called Dear Miss Needles.

It might take me some time, but as I learn how to blog, I will share with you pictures of my favorite quilts and techniques as well as hacks for pattern simplification.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
