Wow - I finally figured out how to get back to my blog. I want to challenge everyone to go to an art show, a quilt or craft show of a fiber exhibit and see what is new.

I like that crochet granny squares are popular again. What about you? What needle craft would you like to see a revival in? Let me know it the comments.

2021 - Let it be the Year of You

I want to encourage you to let your creative juices flow in 2021 and create. One of the best stress relievers is when you create, letting the true you express yourself. For a fun gift in 2020, I made my brother a sporran. What are your projects that you want to do?

I also plan to blog more and share my inspiration. What would you like to do? The clock is running, so make creating a priority. It will help you in more ways than one.

Quilting is one of the most therapeutic hobbies of all times. I can remember as a girl looking forward to snow days so my mother and I could quilt and sew. My mother, an avid quilter, never learned to knit or crochet, but she did teach me to embroider and quilt.

We would piece quilt blocks in the summer and quilt in the winter. Mom liked to use quilting frames but I preferred a hoop so I could lap quilt. For years I have been writing articles and featuring quilt blocks, knit and crochet patterns and talking about the need arts in our local newspaper, The Informer.  My column is called Dear Miss Needles.

It might take me some time, but as I learn how to blog, I will share with you pictures of my favorite quilts and techniques as well as hacks for pattern simplification.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
